Daniel Böhm shot his first short film at the early age of 14, in Super 8. He went on to study film at prestigious New York University and the School of Visual Arts in the United States. Upon completing his education, Böhm began his professional career there as a director of photography for short films and music videos. He also held various positions in feature-length productions, including executive production sound, editing, camera and script. In Argentina, he is highly regarded as a director and creative talent. He has directed more than 30 music videos for leading Argentine musicians such as La Portuaria, Gustavo Cerati, Daniel Melero and Fabiana Cantilo, among numerous others. Böhm has received international accolades for his innovative work. His third short film, "La Versión de Marcial" was awarded the Joseph Papp Award, first prize at the New York Latin Film Festival and "The Gold Plaque Award" at the Chicago International Film Festival. He was the creative mastermind and executive producer of the Argentine hit TV program El Rayo. He directed the introduction and trailers for "El Rayo" and as well as the critically acclaimed TV program "Caiga Quien Caiga" In 1997, Böhm decided to found his own production company, 4KCINE. For three years, he served as vice-president and director. In 1999, his creative labors were recognized when 4KCINE was given the award of "Production Company of the Year" in Argentina. After making more than a hundred remembered commercials, the company concluded its operations at the end of 1999 so Böhm could pursue other creative endeavors. He then founded Böhm Cine in January 2000, a company that continues operating today with the same excellence and standards of its predecessor. His long trajectory in cinema and television has given him a unique aesthetic vision and heightened attention for narration and performance. Daniel Böhm is a recognized visionary of cinematic style; he has emphasized both the "film of art" and the "film of performance." For this talent, he has received a Silver Lion in Cannes (1998) for directing commercials and five Fiaps (1998, 1999, 2001 Gold; 2001 - Silver). He also won the highest award at the New York Film Festival (1999) and has garnered other national and international awards. |
